Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Books not available in the library may be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan from other Maine libraries and libraries from around the nation. Patrons are asked to cover costs of the return postage — usually around $2.00. Each loan has its own due date which must be observed to continue the privilege of borrowing from other libraries. Interlibrary loan fines are $1.00 per day. Please see a staff member about this service.
If you are homebound and unable to use the Library, we can help! The Adult Services librarian will assist you in choosing books and will deliver those books to your home every second Wednesday. Call or email Lynne for more information.
The Library maintains four public access computers for patron use, in addition to wireless access (see below). The public access computers have Microsoft Office applications and Internet access. They are attached to the network printer (10 cents per page). Please bring your own headset; the computers are not equipped with speakers. External drives, cameras, iPods, and other USB devices are not supported.
Patrons of and visitors to the library may access the Internet via the library’s wireless network. The WFPL’s wireless system uses the WiFi standard (also known as IEEE 802.11b-g.) Users will need to supply their own laptop computer with either WiFi built in or a WiFi network card. For more information on this service and how to configure your laptop, please see Common Wireless Access Questions.
Users of the library’s inhouse and wireless networks must agree to abide by the library’s Acceptable Use Policy, which may be downloaded here.
Book Return Box
A return box is provided near the steps of the library for returning materials. Both current and overdue material may be returned in the box when the library is closed. CDs must be returned to the front desk.
