Loan Periods

Most library materials are loaned for two weeks. After an item is two weeks overdue, contact will be made with the patron to facilitate return of overdue items. Invoices for unreturned overdue items will be mailed.  Restitution must be made for lost or damaged material or destruction of library property.

Renewals

Materials may be renewed by phone or in person for another loan period unless materials are on reserve.  Any library book or material which is in circulation may be reserved for you.

Returning Materials

A return box is located at the side entrance of the library for returning materials.  Both current and overdue material may be returned in the box when the library is closed.

Acceptable Use Policy

An Acceptable Use Policy must be signed by parents and children for use of public access computers. Public access computers are not filtered.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult when using the computer.

For the complete Acceptable Use Policy, see the General Guidelines for Public Access Computer Use and Wireless Network Use.

Gifts and Donations

Gifts of books and materials are accepted for use at the discretion of the library staff.  (Materials not used in the library are put into our annual book sale.)  Examples of donations we receive are: hard cover and paperback books, videos, magazines, and jigsaw puzzles.  Our limited budget makes all donated materials very welcome.  We can place a special label on the material identifying the donor or “In memory of…” as you wish. Unsolicited donations should never be left at the library. Please do not leave unsolicited donations at the library without first speaking to a librarian.

The Wilton Free Public Library Association and the Board of Trustees welcome memorial and endowment donations and other arrangements to insure the future of our library.  Contact any Trustee or the Library Director to discuss your contribution.

We conduct a yearly fund raising drive mailed to our patrons which is an important resource for us.
