Two new databases are available to Wilton library patrons. These are indexes to periodicals, books, and other resources, many of which are available to print immediately from a PDF file. The Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center is available from home; Ancestry Library Edition must be used from one of the computers in the library.
Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center is a full text database accessible via a custom EBSCO interface designed primarily for use in public libraries. Content in the database includes a collection of core, proprietary articles covering over 140 topics, as well as licensed periodicals, books and video that focus on categories commonly referred to as hobbies and crafts and is available in high-quality PDF format. Features include the ability to search the Hobbies & Crafts interface by category, view all available topics and browse popular resources related to the area of Hobbies & Crafts. Ancestry Library Edition is a history and genealogy resource that includes more than 7,000 databases with billions of historical records on individuals, families, and places. Sources include censuses, vital records (birth, death, marriage), immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, directories, photos, and maps. Publisher permissions allow in-building use of Ancestry at Maine public libraries that have registered for access, as well as authenticated access for Maine college and university libraries.
