On March 1, the Wilton Library joined other Maine libraries in making downloaded eBooks and audio books available to its patrons. Look for the Download Library logo in our links (left sidebar) to go to the Maine InfoNet download page. Either read the directions on the site, or come into the library for assistance in downloading your first book.
The library has two ereaders that may be checked out. This is a good way to help you decide if you want to buy an ereader at some point.
Audio books may be downloaded in a variety of formats for most players; some may even be burned to a CD-R disc for your car. eBooks are available in EPUB format, which is compatible with most readers (except Kindle!). You will need to download some free software from the InfoNet site to transfer books to your reader*.
*The Overdrive app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is not linked to our library yet. I expect that will be fixed in the next few days. - This is now fixed -
Please comment on this message if you have questions or comments about the service. The library staff will post hints as they become more familiar with the service.
