Library Closure Update
By Jennifer Scott, on May 12th, 2020
Following Governor Mills’ Executive Order as of April 29th, Wilton Free Public Library remains physically closed.
Libraries were not identified as a service sector in phase one of the state’s reopening plan, but a lot of planning is being done. We continue to actively follow national and state guidance for libraries. We hope to be able to offer limited services to the public in a safe manner, tentatively sometime in June. Library service upon reopening will look different than it has in the past – we will keep you updated. The safety of our staff and our community will continue to be our primary consideration during this time. We thank you for your patience and understanding. Please continue to keep library material at home.
We miss you!

In brief … The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association. Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton, the Library remains a private, non-profit corporation. We are proud to be a Family Place Library, emphasizing services and collections for young parents and their children.
