An all new collection of Julieanne Reed’s paintings are hanging in the library until the end of September. The opening will be Wed., Aug. 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. High-quality prints will be sold at the opening, with 30% of the proceeds going to benefit the library. Orders for prints will be taken any time throughout the exhibit.
Julieanne L. Reed is an oil painter and acknowledged “color shaman” who lives in Mexico, Maine. She holds a BFA degree in Painting from the Portland School of Art (now
MECA). Although she began painting in oils and gouache, she now uses high-quality oil pastels. “I paint from my dreams”, she says, and “my paintings are often inspired by a line of poetry – Rumi,Rilke,Mary Oliver…” The canvasses are large, the colors are vibrant, and the themes are organic.
