The Literary Group met at the Baker’s Market Cafe Thursday night. The group of eight shared soups, popovers, and apple pie before a rousing discussion of book titles. Click here for the reading list. The Literary Group first met almost exactly a year ago in the same place, with much the same menu! Next month, the meeting will be November 17 at the bakery. As usual, dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with the book discussion starting promptly at 6:00. . . . → Read More: First anniversary of Literary Group

DDG’s Maine Women Write Book Club
Maine Women Write is a statewide organization founded in 2011 to promote the works of Maine women writers by partnering with independent bookstores and libraries to develop a state-wide book club. The authors of these nationally distributed titles will be supporting the bookclubs with appearances at the meetings, either by skype or in person. We’re excited at DDG to participate in this collaboration. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. Copies of the books will be available for purchase at 10% off. Let us know if you are interested by sending us a note or signing up at the store!
