Although the Town of Wilton heavily subsidizes the Library, it is not enough to cover all our operating expenses. We still need to raise about $20,000 a year to make ends meet. We raise this money in a variety of ways: fundraisers, book sales, fees, legacies and bequests, grants and requested donations, and from the generous unsolicited donations we receive throughout the year. A Fall newsletter is in the works, which includes an appeal letter for the annual Fall Fundraiser. . . . → Read More: From the Director: Fundraising

In brief … The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association. Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton, the Library remains a private, non-profit corporation. We are proud to be a Family Place Library, emphasizing services and collections for young parents and their children.
Donate online! You will receive an email documenting your tax-deductable donation.
