 On September 23, OverDrive announced that Kindle devices will now be able to download eBooks from the InfoNet download site. While you can search and select ebooks from the Download Library through your Kindle browser, you cannot successfully download it directly from there. You must use a computer’s browser to download ebooks to your Amazon account and transfer them to your Kindle.  Interlibrary Loan is a way of extending our collection by borrowing from other libraries around the state and nation. Books are mailed to the library or delivered once a week by van from other Maine libraries. In the past, people paid postage to send their books back.  The library has a new NEC digital projector that will be available to organizations using the library facilities. The projector plugs into a laptop and projects what is on the computer screen. It will accept a USB flash drive, as well. We are pleased to announce that at the end of February, 2011, we will be offering downloadable audio books and ebooks for WFPL patrons. More than 1,400 books including best-selling fiction, non-fiction, young adult and children’s content will be available through Maine InfoNet as downloadable eBooks. In brief … The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association. Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton, the Library remains a private, non-profit corporation. We are proud to be a Family Place Library, emphasizing services and collections for young parents and their children.
