On Monday, May 16, at 6:00 at Calzalaio Pasta Co., the Town will host a public meeting to see who will receive $1000 from which will then be matched by the Town. The Library is applying for this Making Headway grant to help build the fence around the stream on the south side of the library building. This is meant as a safety feature for young children, as well as being the start of the project to build a patio overlooking the Wilson Stream, open to everyone! There will be a live vote at the meeting to choose a winner. Please help us win this money to forward this important and exciting project. . . . → Read More: Community Conversation, May 16, 2016, 6-8pm Calzalaio Pasta Co. The Literary Group is entering it’s fifth year! For those new to the group, this is not the type of book club where everyone reads the same book. Not everyone feels comfortable with the traditional book club model where club members choose which books they will read over the course of a year, then get together on a regular basis to discuss them. It means several people will need to buy, borrow, or download the titles. And what if you really don’t like this month’s selection? What if you’ve read a tremendous book and want to discuss it, or recommend it? What if you just like to talk about books and reading in general? Then this is the group for you! We have an average of 10 to 12 people per meeting, on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at the Library. Our next meeting is Dec. 15. . . . → Read More: Literary Group News

In brief … The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association. Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton, the Library remains a private, non-profit corporation. We are proud to be a Family Place Library, emphasizing services and collections for young parents and their children.
