Wilton poet, Carolyn Gelland, will be reading from her new book, Dream-Shuttle, on Wed., October 16 at 6:30. Gelland, who grew up in Europe and New York City, moved to Wilton with her late husband, poet Kenneth Frost She is published in numerous literary journals. Four-Alarm House, published in 2012, was her first collection of poetry published by Main Street Rag Publishing Co. Both books will be on sale after the reading. The Literary Group will meet at Betty Shibles house on Orchard Dr. at 6:00 pm. Betty’s house is at 895 Orchard Hill Drive in East Wilton. Take Temple Road (at East Wilton Post Office corner) to Orchard Hill Drive and turn left. Betty’s is the sixth house on the left.
From 10:30 to 12:30 Saturday, Oct. 5, the library will once again have its fun Harvest Day event.
- Children will be able to learn about bees, watch how cider is pressed, and see how to spin wool!
- There will be snacks, crafts, and other activities.
- Music by the Merry Plinksters, a ukelele band directed by Mike Burd.
- This is a free event for children and their families!

An all new collection of Julieanne Reed’s paintings are hanging in the library until the end of September. The opening will be Wed., Aug. 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. High-quality prints will be sold at the opening, with 30% of the proceeds going to benefit the library.
