On Monday, May 16, at 6:00 at Calzalaio Pasta Co., the Town will host a public meeting to see who will receive $1000 from which will then be matched by the Town. The Library is applying for this Making Headway grant to help build the fence around the stream on the south side of the library building. This is meant as a safety feature for young children, as well as being the start of the project to build a patio overlooking the Wilson Stream, open to everyone! There will be a live vote at the meeting to choose a winner. In brief … The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association. Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton, the Library remains a private, non-profit corporation. We are proud to be a Family Place Library, emphasizing services and collections for young parents and their children.
